I just looked at my Rainbow and she was basking and sleeping while standing up. Seems very strange to me Lol. Has anyone else seen their turtle basking in odd positions?

I've never seen that before, though she might be giving you a hint that she wants a larger dock

Mine did that too, partly because she had overgrown her basking dock partly because she is obsessed with staring at the computer. :lol:

Lol Yeah I've been meaning to buy a bigger dock for her. She's outgrown this one.

Actually someone who thinks they know all about turtles, but really doesn't know much, went and bought me this without asking for my input. So it was too small for her to begin with. I don't have the money to upgrade so I'm stuck with this until I can manage to get something bigger.

Keep your eye on craigslist, you can often find fantastic deals there if you are patient.

cork bark rounds (or cork bark tiles) work great. or you can try making a DIY basking spot.
$5-$10 can go a looong way.

Mine did that maybe once or twice before I realized they needed a bigger basking area..lol
