Are these turtles rare? Just wondering. Couldn't find anything when i googled it.

Nope they are actually really common to see. Florida banned red eared sliders from being sold in the state due to the fact so many people released res and they started interbreeding with local ybs populations ruining the pure bloodlines there. Also Mississippi and Alabama have all 3 subspecies of slider occur naturally in their state. You see alot hybrids naturally occuring there.

Google- Res intergrades. Intergrades is the true term for hybrids. I just use hybrids because of the wide age range of people on the forum and i think any age group will understand the word hybrid.

Actually, intergrade is used to define interbreeding between 2 subspecies, hybrid is used to define breeding between seperate species. Res x ybs = intergrade, res x map = hybrid
