Introducing another turtle with mature RES?

I have a 10 yr old RES, female. I have been thinking about maybe getting her a friend. Should I get a small turtle or one more her size? Should they be introduced slowly before housing them together, Or will two turtles get along well enough not needing to much time to get to know each other? I don't want to have baby turtles so I am thinking about another female. If I do get a male will any two similar species reproduce? Like two sliders, just not the same type. Or a RES and a painter turtle? I have a big enough tank for two turtles, 125gal. and a good canister filter. I don't want to stress my mature RES, or any other turtle. That's why I'm asking questions first. And if anyone has any input that I may have forgot to think about, thanks in advance. I have seen many setups with multiple turtles, and my local pet store used to have a lagoon with 8 -10 RES. So all that make me want to get another. As well as giving her a friend.

The only thing you can try is a another female RES of similar size. Even that might not work, so you need to be prepared to rehome or have another setup ready.
