My question is do YBS have similar features as adults that RES do? For example do they have the longer fatter tail and longer claws? My RES is about 2 inches and already seems to be gaining these features though its hard to say for sure (I definitely feel his/her little claws now lol). my YBS is a little smaller so just curious what to look for as they grow.

YBS and RES are exactly the same when it comes to size and tgelling male from female

Yep, the two are so closely related it is common they breed with each and it is very common to find hybrid res/ybs in petstores and in the wild. Whole reason florida banned res. To many res released into the wild there and breeding with native ybs destroying the pure gene pool of ybs there.
