I don't think your looking for actual egg crates. I think your looking for light diffuser often referred to as egg crate. it's in your local home improvement center in the lighting section.

If you google light diffuser egg crate, you'll get a picture. Then you can determine if that's what youre looking for or not

It is in the lighting section at Lowes or Home Depot. Its a little tricky to find but its usually pretty close to the lumber. You can try asking..but I asked like 3 people before I found someone who knew what I was talking about lol

They're actually called "light diffusers" and that's what the hardware store people will know the product as.
