Im no expert ;) haha but I enjoy having my Pleco in the tank with my two turtles. They get along well. He is a little bigger as of now, but the turtles actually play with him sometimes. If he is on the floor of the tank they like swimming down and laying on him sometimes. I even catch him cleaning their shells. He seems to help eat any left over food, turtle poop and algae.

I just wanted to get some one elses perspective, thoughts, or even their own stories.

Filbert demolished my first plecco, Snowball. The second one, Superman, has lasted for a while (knock on wood). Filbert chases him around sometimes, but has never gotten a good bite. I have noticed lately that Superman's fins are looking a little jagged. Maybe Filbert got a little too close!

I have two plecos in with my three turtles (as well as other fish) and so far no unintentional casualties ;)

Best advice is not to get an expensive pleco. I'm 0/2 with pleccos and my turtle. Moe has consumed both. At least if you buy an inexpensive plecco your wallet won't be too upset when it goes missing.

Bernie shares her tank with a pleco, 2 chinese algae eaters, 2 red crabs, 2 red tetras, a giant danio, a black skirt tetra, 2sarrassa comet goldfish, and a rosey red minnow which was part of a group of 4 feeder fish bought the week she came into our home. The rest of the feeders died and Red has been a "pet" fish for about 2 months now. So far it's a happy little family in there.

Watch out for big pleco's. They can attach themself to the bottom or top or even sides of your turtles and drown them.

I've had a pleco and a massive channel cat (6-7") in my tank for about 6 months now. Philbert doesn't really mess with either of them. although the catfish chases Philbert out of his log when he tries to swim through it lol

Thanks for the warning SINI5T3R! Never thought about this- i have a 12-inch pleco with my two 4-inch turtles, so far none of them has attacked the other, although he does sometimes clean their shells of algae.
