Adding Turtle Friends?

I see that putting 2 turtles together can sometimes be trouble. I have a 2 inch res named turtlini and am wondering if another breed would work and/or if a large bottom feeder fish would help keep the tank clean, and not be trouble either by angering turtlini or becoming food?

RES are solitary animals, no need to add another turtle unless you have a second tank. A large bottom feeder may last for a while but will eventually become food.

It depends on what other species you are aiming for. Different types of sliders will still run the risk of fighting and may even breed at some point. (I think nature designed sliders to do this in the event that numbers become low). Usually, it's best to aim for a painted turtle, diamondback terrapin (captive bred will be easier for you), or even a common map or another map turtle variety if you feel like having a high maintenance turtle. They have the best track record for living with sliders.
