OK i know that turtles do no have ears and so basically they cant hear BUT i love to sing and play guitar and for some reason it is only when im doin these things next to the tank that both my turtles will prop their heads up as if they sense somthing. Sometimes when i'm playing the guitar near the tank my oldest turtle will swim over to wear i am and then prop his head up nice and still as if listening. Now at first i thougt it was a coincidence and that i was being silly, but it seems to happen all the time. They leave whatever they're doing and listen. I was wondering, since sound is basically caused by vibration maybe they can actually hear since theyre sensitive to vibration. Can someone please tell me if im crazy or not? :/

p.s i've even tried stayin perfectly still so that they dont sense me and most time theyre not even payin attention to me..

i disagree with what you said about now hearing. They have tiny slits in the sides of their heads and those seem to be their ear holes.So you may not know it but they have hearing abilities.

well they cant really hear music but they can hear the vibrations it sends off.

They can "hear" lower tones and vibrations more than anything.

Hmm well i didnt know they had ears and the 'lower tones' comment would explain why my turtle is particularly interested in my guitar. So.. i'm not crazy?

I'm sure they can, my turtle actually watches the telly with my grandmum like he's in a trance! I'm not sure if its the picture or the sound though, I don't know how well they can see.

Hahaha! Thanks for all the comments guys! I've actually noticed now that my turtle has a very nosey personality! He even likes to listen in when im on the phone XD
So it's nice to know im not crazy XD
