hungry hungry plecco?

so, i think that my plecco, snowball, was a little hungry today. while i was tossing in some pellets for filbert, snowball grabbed on to one and kept trying to eat it! it was really funny too since they have those weird suction-cup mouths!

i guess that since he ate all of the algae in the tank, he was after some munchies. is there anything that i can "supplement" the plecco with until the tank gets dirty again? (if it ever will!)

oh, and p.s., i now know why people say that pleccos are more mess than what they are worth. the only think that snowball *won't* eat in the tank are his droppings. which are just as attractive as the algae growing on the bottom of the tank!

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong but there are things you can buy called algae wafers. Then you could feed him those. I've actually seen one of the goldfish do that once. They actually stole it right out of my turtle Niko's mouth. It was funny but I'm so procective of my turtle that I got mad at the fish. I dunno what your plecco was thinking! Just hungry i guess.

^ Correct.

If there is no Algae in the tank your Pleco will die. You need to get some:

Get some ASAP and drop some into the tank before you go to bed. If you do it with the lights on your turtle will just eat them.

well, i got some algae wafers. put them in at bedtime, after the lights were off. looked back, and the turtle is swimming around with the wafer in his mouth. so much for him being asleep... will the algae wafer make him ill?

It will not make him ill but I don't think it really helps him in nutrition.

Just turn the lights off and wait for your turtle to sleep, then put some in.
