So i have had my musk turtle for 22 years and finally decided to get him a friend. But couldnt find any other musk at any of my local pet shops. So i bought a female res and have put them together in the same tank. By doing so i have upgraded to a bigger and longer tank and got a new fliter system for the tank as well. But my question is this. Today is been there 1st day together and seem to be getting along ok. But would they get along well together in the same tank. And do you think they would mate ? Also i have had the res for 2 days now and she has yet to eat, is that due to her being in a new enviorment and give it a few more days and i tried feeding her pallets but wont touch them. I feed them seperately out of the tank. [/b]
How large is your RES? If your RES is larger then your musk then the RES might show dominance over it because RES are pretty aggressive compared to other turtles.

Well my musk is 4 1/2 inches and the res is 5 inches so only a 1/2 inch between them right now. But my musk has been showing alittle aggressive towards the res trying to bite it. But also trys to sniff it, it seems. So not sure if this is normal since the musk has been by it self for 22 years and its all new for him but other then that they seem ok together not at all fighting aggressive. Also when i bought the res she had 2 other res males in the same tank along with an african side neck turtle all living together.
