I was wondering about the res mating ritual. I am talking about when the turtles face each other and shake their front feet in the face of the other turtle. I was wondering if the female res will do this?

I am pretty sure the res that is doing this is a female. From what I have read, I thought the male did this.

Females do it as well. Not as a mating ritual, but rather a sign of aggression. I would keep an eye out.

I am pretty sure the girl will only do it when she is pissed and is threatening the other.

Usually when its mating, the Male does it to the face of the female as a sign to try and impress her so they can mate. If the female does not want to mate with the male she will snap at him and try to make him go away. If two turtles are doing it to each other that is aggression.
