What special thing do you do for your turtle? And does your turtle trust and love you back?

I rescued my res from my sister (she really didn't care for it at all to the point where it was abuse) so needless to say my turtle isn't to into being friends :[ I try to make her life as enjoyable as I can now, making an outdoor enclosure, guppies, clean water.. but GAH she still likes me about as much as a wet towel :/ Any suggestions?

My turtles are just turning a year old. I am nothing more than a food bank! Hopefully as they mature we will be more like friends.

Turtles are not the kind of pet you make "friends" with.Consider them more like fish, and you'll be a lot less disappointed.
Dogs are a much better option if you're looking for a friendly, interactive pet.

Charlotte has a love/hate relationship with me: She loves me when I give her food, and hates me when I try to take her out of the tank. Jozzep is definitely right, turtles aren't the kind of pets to be friends with.

I have loving cats which are in constant need of attention, I don't expect my turtle to leap into my arms for love, I'm just wondering how many peoples turtles trust them or snub them. :]

And Cassie I love your turtles! They are so cute and have such a nice color to them!

my turtles love me. especially during dinner time. when mom fries chicken... they go crazy!. they wont stay away from the surface from the water.
they get on the basking dock and scratch the glass trying to get my attention so i could give them a small piece. lol but not too much...

when i take them out, they roam around the living room. but they don't like being alone. so they go looking for me. i can see them crawl through the hallway and they come to my room. and they wont leave and they play peek a boo with me lol. hiding under the dresser and peeking out from under there. and they love being around walking through the house lol.

at night, if i don't want to put them back, they stay sleeping for the night. and in the morning their running around again. and look for me. i can tell they enjoy my company its cute :P

Hehe I have to say you're wrong Jozzep ;)

Both my turtles are my friends...both of them have reaction that show me they love me back. You may believe it you may not but I have video to prove it.

Kame will always search for me when she is on land, she sleeps outside her tank and will follow me everywhere when I woke up. What makes me love her so much is she is obedient and she can shake hand :)

Here's a video to prove my word http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RK5P1Osk6gw

Kroten might not be as attention seeker as Kame but trust me when I say that kroten will always be in the same room where I am at...that's why when I try to cure her from her fungus I don't have to be afraid because she was always around me.

The newest video that I have shows how Kroten acted like a puppy toward my dad.

Haha novroz! That video was great! Hopefully Zipper will be more like than when she gets older rather than just seeing me as the food giver. :)

Thank :) Well my advice is you have to treat them more than just an animal to feed and they will see you not just as food giver.
