I`ve decided that Earl is female, because the turtle lives at my home since 6 July 2012 (it is one year) and now looks like female turtle.
But let`s look at the short movie that was made about one or two weeks ago...
What do you think about this behavior?

For me it looks like... to be female or not to be. That is the question! I don`t know who turtle is?

To add on since the turtle doing that is female its obvious that is a dominance dance so you do want to watch that thing on stay at that and don't go to biting each other

So... in the future... if it will be two turtle girls (both: Earl and Kumber) can they need in two aquaterrariums as if they were two males? Can they fight and biting together too? To tell the truth... usually they look friendly to each other. It is a very rare video. But they are from different subspecies. May be it can be important in their dance too.

All depends on the turtles, doing this dance doesn't mean they will fight. They can live fine together all their life. Though there is a chance like you said like males they will have to be separated. All depends on them.

How many inches / cm long are they?

This is Kumber and turtle is ... mm... (I`m nazi in deep in my soul let`s see...6.8 cm lenght = 2.7" inches

Here is Earl and turtle is... 10.3 cm = 4" inches
