my sliders are 4 months old and they flutter their claws at each other. sometimes just one of them does it to the other and other times all 3 of them are in a circle fluttering their tiny claws at each other.

i read somewhere that it is courting ritual -- but they're only babies!
i also read that it is a sign of showing their dominance and also that its just a way that they communicate with each other.

any comments on this behavior?

As their babys its just them doing dominance dance like you said.
