Today I found a 150 gallon pond liner on Craigslist for $40. I am torn whether to keep my 50 gallon aquarium or purchase the pond liner and keep it in the garage. I am currently renting a house and am skeptical as to having a heavy load of water in the living room. Also, I do not have the cash to purchase a 100 gallon tank for the next few months at least. Myrtle is a male, about 7 to 7 1/2 inches. I know that they recommend 10 gallons per inch, and want him to have the best home. However, I don't know if the pond in the garage is the best home for him compared to the tank in the living room. Our garage is not so much of a storage area, we hang out in there on a regular basis with a pool table. I think it might get cold in the winter, but the heater or 2 and maybe having it partially covered would help retain the heat. Please let me know what you think. I posted a picture of his current set up. I was also thinking that if I don't upgrade his tank, I was wanting to build an out of water basking area to accommodate for a little extra swimming space in the 50 gallon. If I do take the 150 gallon, I think I want to add another turtle, but I am afraid of dominance and fighting. Thanks for your thoughts!
