does anyone know how long it takes to get all the tannis and and other things in this wood to come out and stop staining water color. i have to submerged under water in bucket and i change the water everyday
65 Gallon
-1 RES (Myrtle)
-1 Pleco (unnamed)
-1 four lined pimelodus catfish (unnamed)
-1 shubunkin (unnamed)
29 Gallon Planted Tank
-3 cory cats
-# guppies!

A few days usually makes a big difference. I think warm water might make it leech faster.

I don't know if my experience was the norm, but I soaked my mopani wood for about a month and it still changed the water in my tank brown. I even boiled it, and changed the water out for hot water every day.

I bought Purigen Seachem and it cleared my water in a few days. Other than that little trick it's a waiting game. I love the look of mopani wood though!
