this is my first post here. Also fore give my spelling I'm dyslexic.

I keep lay turtle in during the winter winter months and I put them out during the days in the summer. normally my big turtle Turtlelin wakes me up in the morning wanting out. it was just 4 summers ago i learned that she is wanting to go lay eggs.
she also stops eating. I don't stay out there to watch all the time B/c i don't think she likes i but i do check on here every now and then. Also its only been this last week that she has been waking me up.

however this sumer i put her out in the patch or burt i always put her in and she isn't digging. She dug one in jun bit that was a bout it and she still isn't really eating.
She will take one or two bight or spit the strips of fish i giver here out. i tent to fead them a lot of meat and fruit B/c they and mostly Turtlelin won't eat much else.
we had a hot and cold winter and i didn't have the time to feed then the normal stiff I give them. not knowing what days would be hot or cold. so I gave them feeders to have any time the needed it. Turtlelin is still eating the feeders ok and last sunday she ate the last ones that where in her tank. But thats about all she eats.
I'm wan't to stop giving them the feeders so much. B/c it lets to her getting sick back in April. She broke the back on one of the fish and it fell under the rock. I didn't fiend it for 2 week.

We haven't hand the best summer either. Being to hot some days or to cold. The have seamed to want to go out.

I didn't know about the tuna trick for the greens till i just came on here. So I'm going to try that.

Still i'm not sure what to do.
I don't know if she is stopped up.
Cant go off she cant get her eggs out.
Doesn't like the the dirt in the back any more.

Can any of you help ?

Can you feel eggs when you lightly touch her belly bu her back legs? Turtles are kinda random when it comes to laying eggs..some times they do and sometimes they dont. She may not have any. Its good she has dirt to lay them in though. Your vet can do an xray to see if she has them and give her a shot to help her lay them if it is neccessary

Hi, welcome to the site. You should supervise your turtle when she's out. If she's making a nest or laying eggs, she'll be even more vulnerable than normal. If it's too hot, don't bother putting them out.

Go with what sflemin2 is suggesting. You want to make sure your turtle is gravid before deciding what to do.

i'm not sure if i felt any eggs. i thought I felt one but i'm not sure what i'm looking for.

I have shade spots for her to go to if it gets to hot. Also at the most she has take 6 hours to lay eggs. I also don't think she likes it when I'm out there. i then to go back inside and come out every now and then,

I put some gold fish in her tank and she eat 6 out of 8 them. so she seems to be doing better now. i guess that all she wants to eat right now.

i'm not sure how to tell if she is gravid. the only thing i can tell is she wants out of the tank i keep her in.

If she's ready to lay eggs and looking for a nesting spot, you're not a bother to her. It is an incredibly instinctive process and once she starts making a nest, you need to look out for her safety.
