http://houston.craigslist.org/for/2215403263.html
I came across this Craigslist add for 3 turtles and when I saw what they were living it, well lets just say i got a little upset. (im only guessing there all living in that same 10 gallon with pretty much no water)
I would love to pick these guys up, but unfortunately i already have so many I don't have room for anymore.
I'd really like to see someone save them from this guys daughter who obviously doesn't know how to properly care for turtles.

On a side note I caused a scene in a local PetSmart this weekend after seeing the conditions there turtles are living in.
They had at least two 6" painteds and two 5" African Side Necks all in the same enclosure with about an inch of water.
I walked around until I found a RES care book and flipped through to the water section.
I then showed the girl at the counter the most basic statement that anyone should be able to understand (ENOUGH ROOM TO SWIM!!!) I then let her know of the 10 gallon per inch rule and asked her to talk to her manager/owner about it.
Not sure if she did or plans too but ill be going back in there for a checkup in a few days lol.

Anyways someone please save these turtles!!

Too bad im in Phx or else id grab them and throw em in my pond. I See ALL kinds of RES on the Phoenix CL Listing. some of them are in little containers with no basking areas and all kinds of horrible care. its basically just the people that get them thinking they are super cute little penny sized turtles and that they just need to be in some water and eat once in a while and they will be great. too bad that isint the case.

Good job DB'sSlider :D

I hate seeing the condition of the turtles in the big box stores. I would save them all if I had a pond!
