So I'm walking past Rocky's tank and he is going crazy in the back of the tank. Trying to get through the glass. I look and there is a beetle climbing the wall. First thought was where is hubby, he kills all bugs. I don't do bugs. Second thought is maybe I should have hubby give it to Rocky. I think no, it's wild and could have parasites. While I'm doing all of that thinking, the beetle flies into Rocky's tank and lands on his basking area. He went slowly up his ramp and struck as fast as a snake. Brought it into the water and had a snack. The rest of the night he starred at the wall where the beetle was hoping for more. Thank goodness there wasn't any more.

lol funny...and yeah turtles are quick. just wait till Rocky gets full grown and decides to bite your finger or the side of your arm. There jaws are freakin strong. Once I was taking one of my turtles inside from my pond to clean it (Full Grown Female that was HUGE...). I had the turtle in one hand and went to open the door with my other and i didnt notice the turtle was close to my arm i was opening the door with and before i could turn the nob BAM...she was attached to my arm. OMG....it hurt SOOOOO Bad. And what made it worse is she would not let go worth the life of me. She kept chomping down harder and harder and i had to set her on the table and just wait for her to let go. it sucked...had a ring shaped scab on my arm for like a month haha

I worry about that now while I'm fiddling around in her tank. It's hard to fish out her lettuce and keep an eye on her every second. She always comes right up to my hand and bumps it with her nose. I know one of these times it's not going to just be a bump. Good thing for her you fought your natural instinct to jerk her off your arm. I guess everything is food!

the turtle that got me didnt think it was food, she was just trying to bite me because she was not tame at all. She would snap at you when you pick her up so I know it was a "Hey ima bite the crap out of you if i get the chance" kind of thing lol. I had snapping turtles before that would take a few fingers off with one bite...now that would of sucked...

Sinister- Been there! Turtle bites do hurt a lot. Not as bad as a snake bite, or a cat bite, but they hurt nonetheless. Sadie has been known to bite us by accident, and she lets go right away, and even gets kinda upset with herself. Hurricane doesn't hang on cause she knows fingers are not edible. Typhoon on the other hand, dislikes being held by my mother so much that she will bite and hang on for as long as she can! Ty tried being this way with me, and I had to resort to pushing her mouth closed every time she'd hold it open at me. She needs to learn biting is NOT okay. She's slowly getting better about it, enough where I can rub her chin again. My mother thought it was cute when Ty bit her, so kept letting her get away with it, until Ty broke the skin, then it wasn't cute anymore. My response to this was, "You're the one who put your finger in her mouth. Imagine when she gets bigger than Sadie." My mother cut it out after that.

I do believe cat bites hurt more. I have scars from my Egyptian Mau, he's very rough with us... *owie face*

I think Rats bite WAY harder then Cats. I breed rats and O...M....G they bite SOOOOO bad when they have babys around them. they brake the skin like nothing and they go DEEP...I have scars on my hands from trying to remove babys from tanks and stuff and the rats are just SO quick about it. One time I got bit and the mom held on and just chewed for like 3 seconds in the air as my hand was comeing out of the tank. I would rather get bit by a 10 foot snake or a cat any day opposed to a Rodent...

I am getting a Anaconda soon and I read they have pretty bad bites since they have special teeth to hold on to slippery prey since they eat stuff in water. I have a Blood Python right now and I have friends that have been bit by big blood's and had to get stitches...Blood Pythons have one of the most powerful bites out of most Pythons.

they get like 6 or 7 feet and can get to about 40 pounds. they get big.
