Our RES tank was previously in a hallway where people would walk by occasionally, but otherwise he was ignored. So, I've moved him down to my office where I sit most of the day. He now swims against the glass almost constantly, seemingly in my direction. I know he is a male so I don't think it's a nesting issue. Is this normal? It makes me feel bad because it looks like he's frantic to escape.

^and it doesn't mean you have to feed him, he's just being a pet. Only feed the recomended amount.

yes, don't worry. he is only checking out the movement in the room and is hoping that you have food for him. It's normal.

Mine always does that. Just ignore him (as in don't look his way)... he'll start going about his business. As soon as you look his way again he'll start doing it again. haha.

Gimli is always waiting by his corner when we come home from work at night and once we go in, he's even more excited and frantic like. Anytime I go out to his room (it's a nice sun room on the side of the house), he just follows me around... I like to think it's because he loves me, but I know better than that... he just wants to eat all the time!

For your turtle, looking out of his tank is kinda like "turtle TV" where the people are the "stars". Sometimes a person in the TV show (you) brings tasty foods to him.

No worries. They tend to beg for food because they know they can get your attention that way.
