No when they get big 10-12 inches depending on sex you can build an outside pond which is the best way to go unless you want to buy a 100-120 gallon min. tank to put inside your house.
Fish are good buddies for your turtle just make sure the fish won't harm him if he ever does eat it.

Turtles can be kept together if you have a large enough Tank, I currently have a Ouachita Map, a Red Bellied Cooter, a Spiny Softshell, and a RES all together and have seen no aggression from them at all, since they have enough space to ignore each other if they want. The Softshell stays to himself mostly, but the other three are like a little pack and do everything together to include sleeping, Basking, and just patrolling the tank. I even once kept a Alligator Snapper with them and had no issues till he got his own tank, but as I stated they have lots of room. They have gone to being together in a 90 Gal tank, to a newly set-up 250 gal.
