I got myself a lovely res yearling yesterday. I've read all the guides about care and nutrition, i wanna know how to make it like me. I haven't named her as of yet. Any beginners suggestions? I'm trying to give her as much privacy as i could give. Thanks :)

it'll eventually realize your the creature delivering food and will meet you at the edge of the tank every time it hears you coming. May even dance for you a little.

Try not to handle your new friend alot within the first week or so. let him get used to his new home and his surroundings. and like jay said sooner or later he will know who you are and that you bring him food and you will have a special human to turtle bond ;D

Congrats on the new addition! If you haven't already, be sure to read around the main site (www.redearslider.com), and the stickies at the top of the forums. That'll give you all the basic stuff for owning a RES.

Any other questions and don't hesitate to ask :)

Give it food. It will love you.

Give it more food it will love you even more. (but that is no excuse for overfeeding!).
