pretty soon you are gonna want to raise the water level for more swimming room. and odds r those rocks will get too small to keep with them in the future when they grow but nice job

I had the same set up as you when I first found my turtle. 20L and the same rocks built up into a basking area. After a while my tank started to smell even after water changes. I never saw my turtle poop.. When I joined the forum I found out that I shouldn't have rocks in the tank, they an eat them and become impacted. I took the rocks out and found the poop and the reason for the smell. I now use sand and I love it. My husband built me a basking area from egg crate (light diffuser) when I got rid of the rocks. I'll try to find a picture of it for you. I should have started with a Welcome to the forum! You'll find tons of information about keeping your turtles healthy here. And by the way your turtles are adorable!

Old 20 gallon with egg crate basking area.
Also both uvb and basking (heat) light should be over the basking area. One turtle looks like his eyes may be a little swollen hard to tell. Just check to see how far away from him while basking the uvb is. Sometimes to strong uvb will cause eyes to swell.
Congratulations on your new additions.

Hmm yeah I might take th stones out once I get a bit more money and probably head for sand. Another thing is that they don't like to bask at all whatever I do :( I've tried forcing it to bask but runs straight into the water .. They also tend to hide in the corner of the tank where the filter is which probably means I have to build some sort of shelter as they always try to dig to a certain area In order to sleep last night ithey were sleeping hiding in the plants sort of floating whcih was pretty funny but the basking problem just grinds my gears haha

Alright, sand it is or empty tank haha I'll try to do that soon or probably the next time when changing water. They don't seem to bask at all :( but these last two days they've been very active munching on snacks over pellets and poking its head out of the water.I'm not sure if they wanted a darker area to sleep but they do tend to sleep in very odd ways from sleeping in a little home I made to sleeping on the fake grass haha check it out!

Little cuties. :D

They are probably basking just not when you are around. It also takes them a few days to become comfortable with their new environments. Give them some time and you'll see them up there. Once they become more comfortable with you, you can also walk around them while they are basking and they wont jump down. I agree with everyone about the rocks, sand is awesome it's a little work to prepare for the tank but after that your turtles will love it. Mine spends hours a day just digging in it looking for treasures.
