He is about 3" and is a Rio Grande RES.

This is a picture of his setup before I added plants and some river rocks to it.

He always looks like he's trying to check what's out the window.

I'm not sure if it's okay to post links to websites on this forum?

I got him online through someone who breeds them. He came very highly recommended by a friend.

Yep, he came in a small tupperware container inside of a box with lots of padding and airholes. Overnighted from a few states away, and he was very safe, healthy and happy when he got here. :)

Yeah i have seen a few videos they are in a plastic/cardboard box with a bunch of stuffing like cotton balls or something. They don't give you the next day delivery which is really dumb it costs 20+ dollars more depending on site they should already include it.

I'm sorry, but this last line has me confused.

Let me explain how turtle shipping works. The best and most humane way to ship turtles is overnight. Good websites won't even give you the option of shipping 2nd day. If you can't afford the shipping, you shouldn't buy the turtle.
The reason shipping is not included, is because it varies from state to state. It wouldn't be fair to charge someone $50.00 to ship a turtle to the next state over when UPS ground would get it there within 24 hours for less than $10.00

Sorry for continuing the off topic discussion.

I completely agree because the turtle comes with a lotttt more expenses than just that!

I absolutely agree with you! :)

Shipping costs a lot of money, and since the turtle itself is not that expensive, it's definitely not worth it to the seller to provide free shipping. The variable rates also taken into account, it just doesn't make any sense.

Like you say, second day shipping options should not even be there, and when I was looking around I was kind of horrified to see that they were offered on some websites (red flag! lol.)

Hmmm, is it difficult to purchase turtles over there? I just came back from the wet market, and RES are everywhere. And of course they are not well kept. All the animals weren't. The lady even tried to sell me a 7inch RES for 25MYR (About $8USD). I bought mine for 6MYR (About $2USD). I am looking for the RES without the red markings, don't know what they're called. We usually call them the chinese turtles. Same price too.

They're not hard to get in pet shops, but the ones around here were unhealthy and older. I wanted a juvenile and I was hoping to get one in good shape. Success so far. :)
