she looks good, but you should fill that tank up to let her swim

Wow, she's the splitting image of my 6 month old RES Charlotte!! Especially in the second picture. Just a few tips though - for her size it looks like she needs a bigger tank and ALOT more water! :)

yeah I have a water heater. I would raise the water but I'm afraid of the heating light being too close to the basking dock thingy. Been told to keep the light at least a foot away from the basking rock.

I have been thinking about making a basking place outside of the tank for her to bask in, and it would help when she feels like nesting, too.

I know it's not a lot (the size), but I'm hoping to upgrade soon. I want at least a 40gal or 50gal next but with my limited room space it's gonna take some time and some saving of the money.

for now I'm going to work on trying to design and build a basking area that will be outside of the tank so she has optimum swimming room. (: got a few good ideas from the photo gallery of basking areas.

Yah that's understandable!! But i worry more about the water level than the light being to close to the dock!! Cheak out my set up i took a piece of wood and nialed it to the wall and clamped my light to it my set up link by my singbneture! And i don't think its needs ta be a FOOT away! I think most people on the form would aggere! Sry for the spelling i had to type this fast! :) good luck!

The heat bulb just needs to be far enough away that it creates the right temps and the turtle can't climb into it. The UVB bulb is different. Depending on the strength of the bulb, it might need to be placed that far away. Check the packaging to make sure. And tidaboy9's suggestion is great, attach the light to something above the tank so that you can raise the water level.

I'm without a light clamp at the moment. I did add some more water today though, so she can swim a little better until i can figure out a better basking area for her and until i can get the chance to go up to petco and get a light clamp.

you can get them at a hardware store for less than you can at a pet store
