So I had a great day on Saturday. Went to my second ever expo and met many great TF'ers.

While I was there, I bought my first ever expo pick up, which happens to be my first ever male and my first turtle out of the Slider Family.

I couldn't get any good shots of his head, he's been very skitish today. He's a Mississippi Map.








I'm close to settling on the name Hercules.

Even in my country got such pets expo but reptiles seems don't popular even one turtle.. more to cats and dogs..

Wow ythis looks way better put together then the reptile show i go too. Though i never go right away when it starts and the two headed turtles and really interesting ones are bought already. I see the empty tank they were in.

Congrats on the new addition ^^ I've heard Maps like excellent water quality up keep xD (not that other sliders don't, but they're more sensitive than RES to water conditions).

I think it'd be hard owning a two headed animal - they tend to die because of complications eating/swimming/etc. And, it's just plain freaky. >.>

Map turtles are part of the slider family?

Sliders in scientific classification refers to there genus and map turtles have there own genus. If you go back up the classification ladder you get into subfamilys. There maps and sliders are togther. They can breed together with a pretty good chance of that babys could happen.
